Broadway's Best Perform for The Times
Ben Cawiezell directed this multi-camera video of oome of Broadway’s brightest stars performed songs from this season’s Broadway musicals — exclusively for The Times — just days after the Tony nominees were announced. They sampled performances from “Ain’t Too Proud,” “Be More Chill,” “The Cher Show,” “Hadestown,” “Oklahoma,” “The Prom” and “Tootsie.” Theater reporter Michael Paulson hosted and spoke with cast and other creative team members behind these new works. A rare convergence of experts on the human costs of war will discuss the often-ignored outgrowth of the global war on terror: two decades of civilian casualties. Times journalist and Marine Corps infantry veteran C. J. Chivers, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for his 2016 story about an Afghan war veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, moderated the discussion. The panelists were Alissa J. Rubin, the Times Paris bureau chief who won a Pulitzer Prize for foreign reporting on Afghanistan in 2015; Azmat Khan, an investigative reporter and New York Times Magazine contributor, who uncovered civilian casualties among nearly 150 airstrike sites across northern Iraq; and writer Brian Castner, a veteran of the Iraq war and weapons expert for Amnesty International’s crisis team, who also investigates war crimes and human rights violations. Blue Osa Yoga is a Retreat and Spa nestled off-the-beaten-path in the virgin Costa Rican rainforest of the Southern Osa Peninsula, the second most bio-diverse place in the World. Ben Cawiezell served as the house videographer creating videos for Blue Osa's website, social media and youtube channel. He also took photos and created Instagram Videos for social media, including Blue Osa's Facebook and IG accounts. In addition, he captured aerial footage of the resort via chartered plane, documented interviews with participants of the program and created a multi-camera speaking reel for the retreat's owner and operator.

In the Fall of '16, via Edelman (Communications Marketing Firm) Ben Cawiezell video edited content for Samsung 837 NYC's social media such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts for an event premiere of the VR commercial "Scent of a Dream" featuring Kate Moss.
Located in the heart of the Meatpacking district in NYC, Samsung 837 combines art, fashion, technology, and sport in unprecedented ways. It’s not a store, but a new kind of place filled with ideas, experiences, and Samsung’s cutting edge devices.
Samsung 837 is where anyone can try out virtual reality, take part in interactive art installations, and see a larger-than-life, three-story screen. It’s home to live music performances, exclusive screenings, and radio recordings.
The space was designed by WonderWall Inc. and features an amphitheater area, VR tunnel, DJ booth, customer service and workshop area, and café.
